Founded in 2015, Ascend is a fast growing, locally owned professional firm that provides accounting and financial management consulting services to companies throughout Vermont. As former full-time CFOs, Controllers, and/or Accounting Managers, we helped financially build some of Vermont’s iconic companies and their respective accounting and finance functions.
Recognizing the importance of solid accounting and finance functions in the success of any business, we decided to share our collective skills and experiences with as many small businesses as we could. With Ascend’s fractional financial management services, entrepreneurs and small businesses have access to the skills of proven finance and accounting professionals without the cost and burden of hiring full-time employees.
We believe in the power of business to do good for our economy and society as a whole. Since our founding, our team has successfully helped over 50 local businesses with interim and fractional leadership, optimized ERP/accounting systems, transformed accounting functions for efficiency and remote work, implemented FP&A (financial, planning, and analysis) functions, supported multiple recapitalizations, helped develop strategic/business plans, and participated in accounting/finance team building. We’re proud (and humbled) to say that many local CPAs, advisors, attorneys, businesspeople, and clients have recommended us at one time or another and continue to do so.

Within an open books environment, you’ll receive a highly competitive base wage which can expand via a generous profit sharing plan funded by the future continued success of our engagements. Our goal is to pay out a majority of profits at year end to those who have worked hard to make the firm successful.
